The Drink Tax is NOT the reason people are not going out to Pittsburgh bars and drinking. It is definitely the Fear of a DUI. The police are soo tough on anyone that has had a few drinks and they are afraid to go out to drink. They are drinking at home or at friends houses. Young and old alike will not take the chance of getting a DUI as they would in the past. The fines, loss of license and jail time are the real deterrents to drinking in not only Pittsuburgh bars but all bars, especially in towns where the cops will stop you for not using a turn signal to change lanes or a burnt out tail light, just so they can check for a DUI. People are even afraid that two or three drinks will put them over the low levels that are now allowed so they just don’t take the chance!

Yes Allegheny County, we the people are JUST GETTING STARTED!! The “WORK PRIVLEGE TAX is next!!! Those of you who are property owners and have earned income are PAYING DOUBLE on locality, county and school tax. AND it was never intended to be permanent; only to fix the roads in the late 70s early 80s. And do you know what OASDI TAX is??

Drinking alcohol is a luxury and a huge responsibility. Owning a home is a huge responsibility as well, but it is a necessity. he tax is where it should be, on the alcohol.

Even more upsetting than dan onorato lying through his teeth, is the problem of the opposition not giving details of those lies. The residents of Allegheny County need to have the facts presented to them in a honest, straightforward manner. We are the voters who deserve to know all of the “ins and outs”. We are in desperate need of FACTS!

Even worse than Dan Onorato lying through his teeth,it is the failure of the opposition to inform the taxpayers, also known as voters, of how misleading our County Exec has been. I am very troubled at the lack of information regarding this tax and its’ supposed neccessity.
